Bee-style word finder

Type the centre letter and the six letters around it. The finder works from the same public domain list as every tool here, and it shows its answers in grades: counts first, then openings, then one group of words at a time, and the full list only when you ask for it.

Counts first is the gentle way to play: how many words are left, how they split by length and by first letter, and how many points are still on the board, without a single answer shown. Words you have already found can be typed in and are taken out of every count the moment you add them.

A second mode on this page scores the same letters the petal way: pick a bonus petal and the slate of twelve strong words is re-scored around it.

This finder is a Pangramist tool. It is not part of any game, and it is not connected to the New York Times Company or its games.

It works from our own word list, ENABLE, a public domain list. The list a game uses and this list are different lists: ours runs wider in some places and narrower in others, so a word a game rejects can appear here and a word a game accepts can be missing. Counts on this page describe our list, never a game's list.
