Fill a crossword pattern
Type the letters you already have, in place, and use a full stop for each square you don't know yet. `c.t` asks for three-letter words that start with C and end with T. The Pangramist finder returns every word in our list that fits the pattern, and your last pattern is remembered in your browser so a long grid doesn't mean retyping.
Crossing letters do the real work here. Two crossings you trust beat five squares you're guessing.
Words come from ENABLE, a public domain list, not the official NASPA (NWL) or Collins (CSW) tournament list: some tournament words, QI and ZA for example, aren't in ENABLE, and some ENABLE words aren't tournament legal, so for rated play, check the official list for your event.
